A bearing manufacturing process consists of 3 main elements such as the production of bearing ring (outer and inner), the rollers and the cage.
These 3 elements start with raw material selection which is a fundamental element to indicate the bearings’ life and quality.
Bearing ring and roller materials are mostly made of high carbon steels, such as AISI 52100. Cleanliness or purity of the steel is one of the main indicators of the bearings’ life and quality. In order to obtain the best results, AISI 52100 steel is subjected to various restrictive controls such as vacuum degassing and consumable electrode vacuum melting (CEVM). Cage materials are mainly made of non-ferrous metal (brass, bronze, aluminum alloy), ferrous metal (quality carbon steel thin plate) and non-metal (engineering nylon, phenolic adhesive)
High-quality material must respond the following indicators :
- High surface and load capacity
- Good abrasion resistance
- High elastic limit
- Good hardness
- Toughness
- Good size stability
- Good rust resistance
- Good processing performance
After the raw material selection process, other main production processes are respectively followed for bearing ring, rollers and cage as following :
Bearing Ring
Forging – Turning – Heat Treatment – Grinding – Assemble
Rollers
Turning – Heat Treatment – Grinding – Assemble
Cage
Casting – Turning – Milling – Deburring – Assemble
Regardless of our manufacturing facility location, our qualified engineer team ensure from raw material selection and in-production process to finalized product in all our production facilities that our Belgo bearings are manufactured according to ISO and DIN quality standards.
That is why, we Go for Revolutionary Engineering with our Belgian/European registered trademark because we believe controlling the quality in each production phases is the key element to achieve quality bearings as Belgo Bearings do !
